Objective

The diploma student is considered capable of becoming a curriculum leader in a pre-school centre, either a kindergarten or childcare-centre.

The trained pre-school educator works towards the attainment of the qualified status. It is an educational process through which the student would acquire a strong knowledge base, a wide repertoire of effective teaching skills, an affective disposition for relating to young children and  facilitate the development of the right pedagogy with the integrative methodology for educating young children.

 

Briefing

Be a trained and qualified early childhood educator, providing care and education for young children from ages zero to six.

  • Acquire skills and knowledge of early childhood education to provide culturally, developmentally and socially appropriate learning experiences that lead young children towards their potential developments.
  • Enhancement of Personal Development in the target teaching language, art, craft, music and societal concerns.
  • Reaffirm the skills and techniques of observation procedures.
  • Plan, conduct and evaluate children’s learning through play experiences.
  • Undergo an eight-week teaching practice.
